Junior Ella Gehlert, an English and secondary education major from Belle, Missouri, shared that she was eager to become involved in an organization that is both challenging and service-driven. “One of my main priorities when choosing a college was finding a place where I could thrive academically, and Freed-Hardeman has turned out to be one of those places,” she said. “I’ve been very pushed by my professors, and I’m honored to be in a society that has nurtured so many academics before me.”
J.T. I’m very grateful to now be a part of it.”
At the conclusion of the ceremony, FHU’s Alpha Chi chapter sponsor, Dr. John McLaughlin, previewed various ways for new members to become involved, including participating in yearly service projects, attending a national convention, presenting original research or applying for academic scholarships.
