The mission of the College of Biblical Studies is to equip all students by teaching and modeling Christ-centered values for servant leadership through the church. Both graduate and undergraduate programs are staffed by a superbly trained faculty of experienced teachers, scholars, and missionaries. You will benefit from the close relationship you enjoy with this outstanding team, both inside and outside the classroom. We are here to nurture your spiritual growth and development.
In addition to bachelor degree programs in Bible, the College of Biblical Studies also offers seven graduate programs, the Master of Arts in Ministry, Doctor of Ministry, the Master of Arts in Old Testament, the Master of Arts in New Testament, the Master of Arts in Pastoral Care and Counseling, and the Master of Divinity.
Extra-curricular opportunities abound on the FHU campus, especially for Bible majors. These include the Missions Group, the Annual Bible Lectureship, spring break and summer mission campaigns, summer internships with congregations across the country, speaking in campus devotionals and preaching for area congregations, serving as counselors for Horizons and Mid-South Youth Camp, and many more.
An added benefit of the FHU experience is the opportunity to study and grow with your fellow Bible majors. They will encourage and inspire your vision for ministry, as together you prepare for life’s greatest calling, a faithful minister for Jesus Christ. Why study the Bible at Freed-Hardeman University? The answer lies in the school’s timeless motto, Teaching how to live, and how to make a living. FHU enjoys a rich heritage of preparing her students for both life and eternity. In addition to providing a program of excellence for training in ministry, each full-time student enrolls in a Bible class every semester, focusing on preparation in character as well as for a career.
