Freed-Hardeman University (FHU) offers two accounting degrees: a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) major in Accounting and a combined B.B.A./M.B.A. program in Accounting.
The B.B.A. major in Accounting is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in accounting principles, practices, and procedures. Students will take courses in financial accounting, cost accounting, auditing, taxation, and accounting information systems. They will also develop critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills. This program is ideal for students who want to pursue careers in public accounting, corporate accounting, government accounting, or non-profit accounting.
The combined B.B.A./M.B.A. program in Accounting allows students to earn both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in accounting in an accelerated format. This program is designed to provide students with advanced knowledge and skills in accounting, finance, business strategy, and leadership. Students will take advanced financial accounting, managerial accounting, taxation, auditing, and accounting research courses. They will also have the opportunity to gain practical experience through internships, practicums, and case studies. This program is ideal for students pursuing careers in executive-level accounting or finance positions or who plan to become Certified Public Accountants (CPAs).
